Helo Mate' Lovers,
I have been drinking the stuff in moderation for years now. I drink mabye 2 medium strength cups a day. It makes me feel alive and able to keep up with life on 3D earth as we know it.
So after some time of buying a half pund here and a half pound there I asked my local co-op how much it is to buy a larger quantity at a time.
I had the offer to buy 5 or 10 lbs at a time. I went with 5 as 10 was just to huge. It cost me $32 for the 5 lb bag of EcoTeas brand Mate' (Guaki...no thanks... to much stem for us oldschool mate' heads). So that breaks down to $6.40 a lb. I was previously buying it for around $10.99 a lb. Huge Savings!
No weather you lke EcoTeas, Guaki, or whatever you can do this.
I would suggest it to anyone on a budget who loves the hell out of mate'. It feels great to know you have 5 lbs of it just sitting there... is that wierd... lol

Re: Why by less than 5 lbs at a time?
Thu, May 3, 2007 - 12:00 PMIf you're willing to drink non-organic mate, go to your local Latino grocery store- they sell these huge bricks of it from Argentina that are several pounds. -

Wed, June 6, 2007 - 10:52 AMIf you buy for price only, you don't get the best. Try Aviva "wild harvest" yerba. Price point is almost double EcoTeas, but it has a better flavor and no sticks, stems, or powder that you find in other brands. -

Re: Why by less than 5 lbs at a time?
Thu, September 27, 2007 - 11:49 PMWe carry many brands--all with good born-on dates--that will last a long time. You can buy pounds and pounds for far less than the prices I'm hearing quoted here. Even the La Merced organic is less than the Guaki stuff. We will ship 7-8 pounds anywhere in the U.S. via flat rate priority mail. Give us a look and we want to hear your comments. <www.yerbamateteagourd.com>
We ourselves drink about two kilos (4-1/2-lbs.) every month between two people. If we were drinking Guaki we'd be spending $50 or more a month. I don't THIIINK so!
