Hey everyone. I have looked up and down the web trying to find a gourd with a specific design. Seemingly, I cannot locate this. What I am searching for is a a gourde, be it natural, wooden, or leather wrapped... With a hint of silver. The design I am looking to obtain is the Hun Nab Ku symbol (Galactic Butterfly) found in mayan designs.
If I cannot locate this I may have to carve it myself out of a gourd I purchase. My art skills are not the greatest and I fear that I will not do a very clean job or even ruin the gourd.
Any leads or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Looking for a specific gourd
Wed, March 14, 2007 - 3:52 PMHello Mystic,
I'm certain we can carve this gourd for you. Have a look at our carved gourds we have up on the site now. www.yerbamateteagourd.com/YerbaMa...ved.html
If you can send us a copy of the design we'll see how intricate it is and give you a quote. Colors cost a little extra; metal rims, pyrography, etc.... but there are lots of possibilities.
Let us know. Thanks,
K&M www.yerbamateteagourd.com

Re: Looking for a specific gourd
Wed, March 14, 2007 - 10:19 PMHello Tom,
We got very involved in looking for this galactic butterfly... and now we have found a couple of great designs. We decided they were so interesting--especially given the meaning of the symbol--that we are going ahead and carving a couple and will have them up on the site by Sunday (March 18, 2007). Give a look there by then and please send us your comments! www.yerbamateteagourd.com/YerbaMa...ved.html
Sincerely k&m
