So I brought some Mate to work and got everyone all excited.
One guy wanted to drink mate a lot, but didn't want to have to stop working to refil his gourd all the time. So he bought a french press. And now makes a super huge batch in it.
Do you guys think only jerks do things like that.
Or you can be a cool dude and do it at the same time?

PS Ive been drinking Mate for about ten years now, and I maybe used a gourd a handful of times. Its the same reason most people probably dont smoke Marijuana from a Chillum, mixed with Tobacco.

Fri, March 9, 2007 - 6:30 AMIf he wants to enjoy mate without the need to use a gourd, thermos, and straw, he needs to buy a "mate listo" or "yerba cup". Here in Argentina, people uset it at work or when they drive long distance.

Sun, March 11, 2007 - 4:03 PMfrench presses work great, this is how we serve mate in our cafe.... just be aware that mate only wants to steep 5 minutes, that's all it takes to bring out the beneficials, after that, only the flavor keeps getting stronger. perhaps this is part of the gourd thing, you drain it and refill within 5 min.....
great that the folks you work with are into drinking mate rather than coffee, it'll make everyone more pleasant to work with and a lot will get done!
