Re: Depression side affect
Sat, August 26, 2006 - 11:31 AMi get that too sometimes.
i find that it depends what i do right after drinking mate. if i drink it and then go for a walk/dance or do anything physical i feel energized and great. if i drink the mate and then sit on the couch i find that i get sleepy or sometimes a wee bit depressed quite quickly.
how much are you drinking when you get that feeling? also what brand are you drinking? i drink guayaki. -

Re: Depression side affect
Tue, October 17, 2006 - 1:23 PMsometimes taxed adrainel glands have somthing to do with that. That can cause a domino effect with all your glands dropping hormone levels. Caffine in any form or any stimulating substance can create a sort of rollar coaster effect on the body. If your homeostasis is already fragile, then, just as a pendulum would, your energy/seritonin levels will swing forth then back to compensate.
thats all i got
peace.

Re: Depression side affect
Sat, December 30, 2006 - 6:52 PMhey, thanks for the insight on the hypoglycemia and adrenal gland. i actually do think that has something to do with it. i am very sensitive to caffeine and avoid it as much as possible. sugar as well. i get weird if i forget to eat. so i think i'll try limiting my mate intake and see how that works. i really appreciate this insight because i didn't think about it.
